Our Story
Hi, I’m Anindita, the heart and hands behind Florantia.
Florantia started in a small Bengaluru balcony that got more sun than privacy. It was noisy, dusty, and honestly, a little chaotic. The only thing that made it feel like “home” was a row of stubborn little plants that refused to give up on me, even when I overwatered, underwatered, or forgot them for a week.
Those plants did more than decorate the space. They slowed me down. They gave me something living to care for. They turned a regular city flat into a quiet, green corner I could breathe in.
That’s where Florantia really began.
Why Florantia exists
Most plant shopping in cities feels like this: random nursery visit, impulse buy, plastic pot, generic soil, no real guidance… and then guilt when the plant dies in three weeks.
Florantia is my answer to that.
I wanted a place where:
- Plants are chosen for real Indian homes — balconies, rented flats, work desks, low-light corners.
- Design matters as much as plant health.
- Care is simple, honest, and practical, not overwhelming.
So we built a small, obsessive operation around one idea: plants should make your everyday life calmer, not harder.
Rooted in city life, designed for small spaces
We focus on greenery that fits how people actually live:
- Balcony plants that can handle heat, dust, and Bangalore-style weather mood swings.
- Desk and bedroom plants that don’t demand constant babysitting.
- Low‑drama, high‑charm plants that forgive late waterings and busy weeks.
Every plant we list has a clear “where it fits best” — balcony, bedroom, desk — so you’re not guessing where to keep it or how much light it needs.
Thoughtful design, not random planters
A plant can be healthy and still look awkward in your space.
That’s why we pair our plants with carefully chosen planters that:
- Match modern Indian apartments — clean lines, calm colours, no loud, gimmicky designs.
- Fit real spots in your home — narrow ledges, small side tables, work desks, tiny balconies.
- Make even “dead” corners feel intentional instead of cluttered.
The goal is simple: when you walk past that corner, you should feel a small sense of “ah, this looks nice,” not “I’ll fix this someday.”
How we care for your plants before they reach you
Before a plant reaches your home, it spends time being:
- Grown and hardened in nursery conditions suited to city homes.
- Checked for overall health — roots, foliage, pest issues.
- Matched with the right planter and packing so it can handle the trip to you.
We’re still small, which means every box that goes out is very personal. If something doesn’t look right, it doesn’t ship.
From box to balcony: we don’t leave you guessing
Opening a box of plants should feel exciting, not stressful.
So with every plant, we give you:
- Clear placement guidance — where to keep it on Day 1, and where to move it later.
- Simple care notes — light, water, and what “too much” actually looks like.
- Practical tips tailored for Indian city homes — hard water, dust, balconies with strong afternoon sun, apartments with hardly any.
We also share longer guides and balcony‑friendly tips on our blog, so you can grow your confidence along with your plants.
What makes Florantia different
- Plants chosen specifically for Indian apartments and balconies, not generic catalog photos.
- Curated, design‑forward planters that blend with your home instead of fighting it.
- Simple, no‑drama care instructions that respect your busy schedule.
- Honest communication — if a plant is fussy, we tell you upfront.
- A real person behind the brand who actually kills plants sometimes, learns, and improves the next batch.
Grow with patience, bloom with love
Our belief is simple: when you care for a plant, you quietly start caring for yourself a little more too.
That morning two‑minute ritual — checking new leaves, wiping off dust, watering one pot — can change the way your home feels. It can turn a balcony into a retreat, a work desk into a calmer space, a bedroom corner into something you look forward to seeing at night.
Florantia is here for that.
One plant, one corner, one small green ritual at a time.
With love,
Anindita
